I'm a CPA and CFP® who actually likes people ... which, in this industry, makes me either rare or suspicious. Probably both.

I grew up an athlete. Walked onto the football team at BYU in 2007, won the Las Vegas Bowl against UCLA on a blocked field goal. A few years later I walked onto the rugby team and won a national championship. If there's a through-line in my life, it's this: I don't quit, and I find a way to win.

 

That same mentality is why I started Contender Financial. Here's the honest truth about the financial services industry: accountants are too busy to actually help you. Financial advisors get paid too much to do too little. And nobody (almost nobody) is sitting down with high-earning families and saying "here's exactly what you're leaving on the table, and here's how we fix it." That gap bothered me enough to do something about it.

 

Over the last 10+ years I've worked with everyone from pro athletes and CEOs to high-earning sales professionals who are great at making money and tired of watching it disappear to taxes. I've helped clients save anywhere from $15,000 for a young couple just starting out, to over $1,000,000 on a single transaction for a business owner who didn't know what he didn't know.

 

My priorities in life are simple: faith, family, and finances. In that order. I believe that financially healthy families build a financially healthy nation, and I've made it my mission to help a million of them get there. That's not a tagline. That's why I show up every day.
